It is my privilege to serve as your President for the Texas School Assessors
Association! I am both honored and excited for the next year.
Randy Riggs, thank you serving our association as President last year, you left me with big shoes to fill. I believe you all will agree that our 2023 conference was an absolute success with remarkable speakers. Special thanks to our sponsors and you for your attendance. Our conference success counts on you as well as the sponsors.
I would like to personally thank Colette Ballinger for being such a magnificent Executive Director for the association and a mentor to me during my time on the board. She does so many things behind the scenes to make our conferences appear flawless. I would also like to recognize the other members of our board for all the work they do throughout the year to ensure our conference is ever growing and changing with the times. Also, where would we be without the help of Lisa Freeman for all her hard work on door prizes throughout the year.
With an ever-changing property tax world, the mentorship this association provides us with has become key. We have always dealt with Legislative changes, but in the last few years the changes have been growing more and more difficult. These are the times that we need each other, and the association has many years of experience to lean on. I encourage you when you attend the conference to get business cards from your mentors and keep these mentorships going after the conference. The future of property tax is ever changing as well as the issues that come with these changes. We need each other now more than ever. Hats off to each of you for your devotion to the association and to each other in this ever-changing business.
Please make sure you save the date for the 57th Annual Conference, March 24-28, 2024. I also encourage you to reach out to any of us if there is a specific topic you would like to hear about next year. Also please help spread the word about our conference to ensure that we continue to have growth and allow for more mentoring opportunities in the future.
